Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Will this work with my gate opener brand? A: Yes, in most cases. The IR33 is a universal sensor that accepts 12V to 24V AC/DC power and provides a standard “Dry Contact” relay output (Normally Closed or Normally Open). If your gate opener board has terminals for safety sensors, this will work.
Q: What happens if the beam is broken? A: If the gate is closing and the beam is interrupted (e.g., by a car), the sensor sends a signal to the gate opener to stop or reverse the gate to the open position immediately.
Q: How high should I install them? A: We recommend mounting them about 20cm to 50cm (8-20 inches) above the ground. This height is ideal for detecting vehicle bumpers, tires, and small pets.
Q: Do I need wires on both sides of the driveway? A: Yes. This is a “Wired” photocell system. You need to run low-voltage wires to both the Transmitter (TX) and the Receiver (RX) on opposite sides of the gate.
Q: Is it waterproof? A: Yes, the IR33 is designed for outdoor use with a weather-resistant casing to withstand rain and dust.
Connecting Instruction

Note
- Installation height should be over 20CM from the ground
- The distance from the EMITTER to RECEIVER shall not be less than 2 meter
- First install the RECEIVER, and then install the EMITTER, vertically. Make sure the EMITTER and RECEIVER are mounted on the same horizontal line, face-to-face. Once they are on the same line, the LED inside of the RECEIVER goes out
- Fix them and connect wires
